The Review:

So, you want to understand quantum mechanics, do you? Good, because if you figure it out, I'd love to have you explain it to me! This extremely cool program, probably more suited for advanced classes, raytraces pictures of orbital clouds based on wavefunction probability density. Huh? Well, to put it more simply, where is that frisky little electron?

Dean Dauger, the programmer, rubs in the incomprehensibility of the mathematics involved by including the statistical formulae on the interface with the raytracing... thanks Dean.

The main reason this program is cool is the beautiful tracings of the orbital clouds... Mr. Dauger has gone the trouble of including a red/cyan viewing option that will allow you to see the tracing in 3D if you have some red/green glasses handy.

I don't pretend to understand all the intricacies of this program but it still would be fantastic to show students the orbitals... I at least "get" that the orbital number is easily adjustable, and the diagram changes accordingly.

After you've downloaded this baby, take Dean Dauger's advice... play with it! Don't be intimidated! To heck with Heisenberg... I'm "certain" you'll enjoy playing with this fantastic program!

Conclusion:

Are you a physics teacher? Own a Mac? Then what are you waiting for - you MUST purchase this software, or the stability of all atoms could be in jeopardy!
